A Different Therapy

Filed under: Adult Health, Child's Health — admin @ 11:52 pm

I have been to a lot of rehabilitation programs all over the state from small to large ones and from known to not so known and I thought I have seen it all. The rehabilitating process, getting over with addiction process and different types of therapy applications have quite been the programs. But I saw this different Therapy program that they use in a small community for teenagers who stays there because of alcohol, drug and many kinds of abuse. They are teaching them centering clay or pottery. I know that pottery calms the mind and the heart by using your hand to master teaching wheel throwing. It is a different kind of art that they also teach to young kids in schools. It teaches discipline, sense of creativity and patience in a person who is making this. I know that it is not easy teaching clay process for most of us but there are those who were born to have green fingers and hands. With all the factors that may help an individual go through his/her life’s obstacles by pottery, it is no doubt one therapy that is effective for many.
